Here are the 50 top non-reissues (FSVO reissue) from the Top 40 polls last year, with their position in the reader's poll also indicated. By all means ask in the comments box if there are any other songs you want to know the fate of. The scoring system took into account both % of votes and # of voters.

Condensed tickys )

(Note: if voting stays as is, "Piece Of Me" would come top of this poll.)

There WAS a chart yesterday but - for the first time this year - it featured NO new entries.

So, if you're whiling time away on the interwebs today, a pair of reminders:

1. All Year in Pop polls are STILL OPEN: click here to see the last 25 and then keep going backwards. The perfect opportunity to tick tracks (or whole weeks!) you missed (or untick ones you came to hate) - if you click on the "Poll#xxxxxx" link and then "Fill In Poll" you can revise previous opinions. I will probably be mad enough to totalise everything next weekend sometime.

2. FINAL REMINDER to send yr top 10 tracks of the year to leagueofpop@gmail.com today! Clearing up a possible confusion - you DON'T have to send me ACTUAL TRACKS, just a list of the top 10 will do.

2a. This final reminder especially applies if your name is THE LEX as you won't have a leg to stand on when you complain about the group's choices otherwise!

Because I know that filling in the same poll twice is every child's Christmas dream, here it is again (this time with checky boxen)

[Poll #1110912]

Best of the wobstide to you all.

Good grief.

(ObReminder: LEAGUE OF POP AT GMAIL DOT COM TEN TRACKS DO IT NAO or before new years anyway)

Santa Claus has well and truly come to town. But also a number of legitimate new entries a-sneakin' in before the year-end curtain falls.

[Poll #1103649]

Like a terrifying rogue planet the awesome gravity pull of WOBS is warping the charts - now we see what the all-downloads rule is really about.

[Poll #1099584]

Almost there though!
[identity profile] freakytigger.livejournal.com
Well, that was easy - only four new entries, unless I've read the BBC charts wrong. I'm also guessing that this might be the last week in which our overall winners might be troubled, but let's see.

[Poll #1095062]

Another slowish week and the charts are starting to silt up a bit - labels holding fire on new releases in the run up to Christmas I guess. Some interest this week though: 1. Niche! 2. Has that Spice single not had a physical release yet or is it genuinely a huge flop - first time I can remember a Children In Need track going DOWN in charity week!

[Poll #1091138]

In other news: huge apologies for the continuing non-appearance of the Pop Open. My home internet was down last night though I should of course have done it earlier. Fingers crossed for tomorrow.

A somewhat bijou poll this - and maybe should be even more so if "Valerie" is the same "Valerie" that's at #4 in the charts, just on a different record so credited different - can anyone enlighten?

A Top 3 full of new entries for the first time in...ages! And some other stuff.

[Poll #1079787]

No Pop Open results, by the way, until we've got an acceptable level of votes for the 90s group.

As the radio edit says, "It's Britney, dear."

[Poll #1075401]

B-b-but....where are the Sex Pistols?

[Poll #1072823]
[identity profile] freakytigger.livejournal.com
A more manageable eight new entries this week, including Aly and AJ's UK chart debut and the seventieth single off the Mika record.

[Poll #1067778]

Importantly, all previous polls remain open. Why "importantly"? Because you can GO BACK AND TICK ENRIQUE. This has been a public service announcement from the [livejournal.com profile] poptimists admins.
[identity profile] freakytigger.livejournal.com
Sweet Christmas it's THIRTEEN new entries, almost a third of the WHOLE CHART. Surely ONE of them must be good!!

[Poll #1064074]

October round-up and Pop Open results to follow - what a day of orgafun content!

JEBUS Poptimists has been quiet this week - this is what happens when Kat's away and I'm ill. But now it's back back etc with a Year In Pop which livens up a little towards the back end with the electro-rock new Sugababes single and the debut of Feist, who seems to be a regular on the Poptimists last.fm lists but who I have never heard, until shortly... after.... posting.... this....

As for Elvis, he said it, not me.

[Poll #1060304]
[identity profile] freakytigger.livejournal.com
Hello clouds hello sky hello elvis reissues, I'm back in the "saddle" (thanx to [livejournal.com profile] piratemoggy for her excellent work) and ready to tick. Just one question - what is Phil Collins doing here?

[Poll #1057109]

EDIT: THE HI TACK SONG IS "LET'S DANCE" NOT "SAY SAY SAY". THOUGH IF YOU HATED ONE YOU'RE PROBABLY NOT GOING TO TICK THE OTHER I GUESS. IDIOT ME.
[identity profile] piratemoggy.livejournal.com
Hello chaps, just filling in for one more week because I am a jobless bum and [livejournal.com profile] freakytigger is not. Bit odd this week insofar as am including The Freaks, who seem to have previously slipped through the polling net and also I'm not convinced we haven't polled Peter, Bjorn and John before although maybe that was with a different single, since I checked back and couldn't see it.

[Poll #1053518]

Will edit in some Youtube links in a minute. :)

Girls Aloud
Elvis
The Freaks
Pavarotti
Editors
Booty Luv
P, B & J ft. her from The Concretes

[Poll #1049325]

Due to having excessive time on my hands and not wanting to actually start tidying/packing for another few days at the very least, I have hunted down YouTubes of all of the above:
James Blunt
Elvis
Scouting For Girls
Natalie Imbruglia
Reverend and The Makers [poss. not work safe]
Maroon 5 [also poss. not work safe]
The Twang
Armand Van Helden
