[Poll #1049325]
Due to having excessive time on my hands and not wanting to actually start tidying/packing for another few days at the very least, I have hunted down YouTubes of all of the above:
James Blunt
Elvis
Scouting For Girls
Natalie Imbruglia
Reverend and The Makers [poss. not work safe]
Maroon 5 [also poss. not work safe]
The Twang
Armand Van Helden

Date: 2007-09-03 08:41 am (UTC)The Twang are so bad. :( Even the video looks like a bad daytime soap. And not in a good way.

Er. No ticky, this week. Thank you for the youtube links, by the way, that was very nice.

Date: 2007-09-03 11:31 am (UTC)That and Natalie and Maroon 5 are all "safe" Radio 2 fodder, but even so are all borderline ticks for me. (P.S. I am v. old)
Re: A thort
Date: 2007-09-03 11:39 am (UTC)I wish the Maroon 5 man would stop trying to convince us all that he is not Radio 2 fodder by taking all his clothes off in the videos. 'Look, we're hardcore and dangerous; I have had sex with women!'

Date: 2007-09-03 04:19 pm (UTC)OMG I haven't been following the US Open since about Day 2 and just looked at the BBC news site in order to catch up. How about the bottom half of the women's singles draw right now?
Re: A thort
Date: 2007-09-03 04:44 pm (UTC)On the downside, neither Serena Williams nor Andy Roddick have lost yet. I trust Justine and Roger will take care of those.

Date: 2007-09-04 07:49 am (UTC)Yeah. Basically I want Justine to massacre her 6-0 6-0.
Re: A thort
Date: 2007-09-04 09:21 am (UTC)Anyway, I don't think she's deliberately disrespecting the tour, more that she's got a much wider range of interests to fill her time than just tennis. Kind of like a Paris Hilton of the tennis world.
Re: A thort
Date: 2007-09-04 10:00 am (UTC)I don't apply any of my views on pop music to tennis, I would pretty much be a tennis rockist. I like old-skool traditional clever play, finesse and stuff rather than dumb ballbashing, and I think it's really bad for the sport when its biggest name (and one of its biggest talents) has such a casual attitude towards it. I don't like the glitzy celebrity of certain players either, b/c it often just translates into favouritism. Also, I love US pop stars and hate US tennis players.
Re: A thort
Date: 2007-09-04 10:05 am (UTC)I really like the glitzy celebrity side, lots of the other players I find bland, even if I can appreciate their finesse.

Which I think is rubbish but obviously this is not a democratic opinion.

Date: 2007-09-03 03:59 pm (UTC)Elvis - I've been ticking the Elvis re-releases so far, this is another great one so the theme shall continue.
SFG - argh a pleasant piano intro RUINED by more Kate Nash/Fratellis busker nonsense. I like the cowbell and the piano but the chorus is way too grating to get a tick.
Broogli-Wooglia - is this going to be an Andreas Johnson cover? Nope. A bit boring, inoffensive and forgettable. No tick.
Rev & Makers - am trying to stay open-minded about this one. I can see what they're trying to do - it's upbeat enough for a good ol' bop down the indie disco. With the fashionable grim council estate poetry over the top. It's ok but tbh I'd rather listen to Shed Seven. Yes exactly.
M5 - I liked their last one, let's see what they can offer as a follow up. Oooh it's good! I like the over-dramatic chorus and the zwwip-ee-zwwip bits. Tick.
Twang - OH GOD GO AWAY. It's like Rev & Makers but without the energy.
AVH - I RLY like 'Touch Your Toes', but this isn't 'Touch Your Toes'. No tick.
JESUS CHRIST X2
