A new Now poll a day early thanks to the world cup mix-up, Now 20 takes us into the second half of 1991. Notable by its absence is Bryan Adams, whose 16 weeks at #1 was smack in this 'catchment area' and no doubt priced him right out of the compilers' reach. Still, why worry when you have Julian Lennon and Glass Tiger? Note MUCH FUN had by the compilers with track order, especially the U2/PSB segue.

Now 19 was won by a single vote for Massive over the KLF - the cock-up with radio buttons thankfully happened with one of the worst track sequences we've yet seen though if you want to think Innuendo wuz robbed, don't let me stop you. Lots of stuff to talk about on this one so let's get on with it shall we?

[Poll #664430]

NB: "Full length version"?? They can't actually mean that, can they?

rah, i thought i would be the only person to vote for kenny thomas (this isn't his big hit either is it?).

sit down:

before this point*: sit down when it came on
after this point: remain standing

*remember it was a good while after it was first released that it actually charted

also, why can't i remember glass tiger?

I would not be in a club where 'Sit Down' was likely to be played in the FIRST place.

Y'ALL READY FOR THIS! I was obsessed with 2U when I was ickle, they were my first favourite band.

because it's:

a. dreadful
b. AMAZINGLY rockist
c. the preserve of acoustical night tw@s who say "one more song" and then do a THREE HOUR version of it
d. rugby teams singing it
e. the whole concept that everything's been rub since buddy holly died (but AAAHH, don mclean, AAAHH, that includes you, DO YOU SEE???)

i could go on...

It was Rozalla > JAMMs > PM Dawn for me.
Why so little love for Rozalla, btw??

The full length version is 8 minutes 33 seconds, if you're wondering.

I could YSI it (but won't), but I can't YSI anything else off the third batch cause there's a GIANT BIG HOLE in my Now database!

It was the Madonna version which made me realise that it had a decent tune!

It's just one of those songs which is always there (though not too much there as in the ways carsmile outlines)
