With "Clint Eastwood" a front-runner in the Now poll, much recent talk of Britpop, and the daughter of Fat Les about to explode onto the national chart scene, what better time for the Canon to turn its fire on Blur, Gorillaz, and assorted side projects? Pick THIRTEEN of these singles and we'll see what wins. NB Graham Coxon's solo records have not been included because they're atrocious because the only hits were after he left the band so they don't count, plus I got bored of typing.

[Poll #739939]

If you are The Lex you are probably horrified by the exclusion of Coxon, no wait I mean by the indieness of it all, so here are the results of last week's Britney canon to soothe you:

1. ...BABY ONE MORE TIME (45 votes)
2. Toxic (44 votes)
3. Oops I Did It Again (41)
4. I'm A Slave 4 U (31)
5. (You Drive Me) Crazy (25)
6. Stronger (16)
7=. Born To Make You Happy (13)
7=. Boys (13)
9. Overprotected (11)
10. Everytime (10)

All bad all the time! Especially The Jam!

(nb I have never heard The Damned)
(nb I would like several Clash songs if it weren't for his VOICE)

I can't tell these indie boys apart, they all sound the same to me and NONE of them can sing.

i kinda like joe's voice, it = 1xseal barkin

"going underground" is good, possibly that's it (when geeta was stayin the first time we hunted round hackney for somewhere to eat breakfast and eventually had to go with somewhere which was playin the COMPLETE BALLAD STYLINGS OF P.WELLER to accompany yr croissant)

none of them are indie though -- even if the clash WANTED TO BE

I hate the seal barking vocal style, it is the reason I am in the HATAZ camp for that New Radicals song.

I hope I never ever stumble into that eaterie.

Is this why they made 'Cut The Cr4p' then? (I think by this stage they would've both agreed with you)

I rly, rly hate The Jam, but over the years have had to accept that some of their singles were OK. Paul Weller is still a grade A c0ck tho.

The Clash = TRASH MORE LIKE DO YOU SEE?

The Jam were my answer as well! That cover of the Batman theme! Beat Surrender! That one where he goes "I KICK YOU IN THE BALLS"! Fantastic.
