With "Clint Eastwood" a front-runner in the Now poll, much recent talk of Britpop, and the daughter of Fat Les about to explode onto the national chart scene, what better time for the Canon to turn its fire on Blur, Gorillaz, and assorted side projects? A tick = I don't utterly despise it. Blur were one of the worst bands of the nineties and it's still a surprise to me how listenable some of the Gorillaz stuff is.

1. It was written very quickly to order to provide a hit - reliable source of thrill-power.

2. It has a good chorus.

3. Cardboard chicken head dance on TOTP

4. It's the sole inhabitant of the "bubblebaggy" genre (perhaps some Candy Flip tracks also count)

5. Damon and the band absolutely hate it and refuse to let it on hits albums etc i.e. THIS rather than rub old "Popscene" is the cult Blur classik.
