More 'heartbreak' for Drummond and Cauty as for the second Now Poll in a row they lose out by a single vote, this time to 2 Unlimited's "Get Ready For This", whose 1-point advantage also saw off the Pet Shop Boys and Salt N Pepa in an absurdly close contest. Only one person picked Ver Limited as their actual favourite, and there was a broad spread of worsts, with Python, MacLean and "Dizzy" all getting much dissing as well as a healthy level of actual-poll support.

Pop fate however seems to have smiled on the KLF, as they get two tracks on Now 21* and a frankly weak line-up going against them, packed full of second-single-syndrome, which is particularly grievous at a time when a lot of dance acts only really got one big single. Will they prevail? Let's see.

[Poll #667724]

*even if neither of them are nearly as good as "It's Grim Up North", le sigh.

There is indeed Reams of Bad on this Now. At least in the last Now it was all concentrated in the last third. Here we have Wet Wet Wet, Simply Rubbish
Addams Family Sh1te and a myriad of rub 2nd singles. At least Deeply Dippy and the Tlimited are present.

HAMMER DON'T HURT HER!

paul abdul love is wantin :(

also i shd have voted for right said fred, i wz disoriented by the non-inclusion of a possibly more famous song somewhere at some point

tactics aside, stay is probbly my favourite song here DESPITE ftb the following: on election night 92 i wz watchin totp in its only true thur night spot, and the sistren came and did their top goth video and THE CARMODIAN FORESIGHT WAS ON ME viz i knew that bcz they were singin "STAY" that mr major of gnome-moulding ilk wd be RELECTED and so it came to pass

All RSF songs apart from The Hit are second singles - none of them are any good but the public keeps remembering "I'm too sexy" and giving them another chance.

Oh I disagree. "Don't Talk Just Kiss" is easily as good as "I'm Too Sexy". "Dippy" is pretty good as well.

Heh, I bought that Heavenly Records RSF covers EP (secondhand) (I was on a 'must have evrything by Saint Etienne' tip at the time). IT IS K-RUB

The Up album is good manly fun from start to end, its essence contained in the track "Do Ya Feel" with its huge-drum yet perceptive address of the mind-body divide, going "fight it all you want -- IT'S A LUURVE MACHINE!!".

"The great unlaid making their way home" !!

"Is it true about SIZE??
Is it true about POP??
Is it true about TRASH??
WHAT ARE WE TO DO????"

1st quote: "Swan".
2nd quote: "Is It True About Love".

Btw emphasis and punctuation was mine, as you may have guessed.
