Ladies and gents, it's time for 2001: A Poll Odyssey! Mumpop fans are wailing and gnashing their teeth at the news that two of the top three album artists of the year (David Gray and Robbie Williams) are nowhere to be found in these heats, and the third (Dido) just scraped in by the skin of her teeth (courtesy of justfanoe). Can teenpop, hiphop and chart bosh save the day? There's only one way to find out.

COSINE. I hate Super Furry Animals SO MUCH - this is what living in Wales for 3 years will do to you. Just a fucking repulsive band on every level. Literally cannot believe they even got nominated let alone seem to be doing so well. Mis-Teeq thankfully ahead now, though we still have Gorillaz to overcome...this shouldn't even be close GRRR. And they're all ahead of Ludacris and Ms Dynamite :(

Also, OH SHIT I just realised I forgot to nominate one of the great lost one-off R&B classics of this year, Toya's 'I Do'.



Kat if there is ANY way of bending the rules and letting this sneak through that would be AMAZING, hear how good it is!! Though of course I understand if rules need to be stuck to :(

I'd been considering an "oops I forgot this one" poll at some point, where we aggregate together any tracks over the entire decade that slipped through the net of our memories first time out into one poll. F'r'instance, I think Rock DJ should have been worth a punt in the 2000 process.....
