I am now only two entries away from this track on my Popular project (http://freakytrigger.co.uk/popular) so it's time to ask the wisest people I know about it:

[Poll #1171459]

Two other questions (which might be the same)

- Why do people like singles in multiple bits so much?
- Why is this record still so enormously beloved out in the wide world?

I grew up with Queen and still have never got bored of Bohemian Rhapsody. I think it's so beloved because it's fun, silly, memorable and dynamic. I ticked "light opera bit" but to be honest, none of it would be any good without the rest of it. The payoff as they rock out and then return to the piano for the coda is among the most elegant in all pop.

I think Queen were better than this frequently (Killer Queen, Somebody to Love, Under Pressure, Seven Seas of Rhye, Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy etc) but Bohemian Rhapsody is like a really good greatest hits album in one song. Not bad at all.
