I didn't come close to 34 ticks. I like some Elvis, and he was a very fine singer, but I think I overreact against him because of his overinflated rep. I dislike the fact that he is so incomparably huger than greater and more important talents, I think, such as Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard and Ike Turner.

Basically it's a live version of the song during which "The King" repeatedly breaks down with the giggles. It's embarrassing to listen to really, only worth hearing the once, tops, but for me the original is kinda meh anyway, so I ticked it out of contrariness.

How can 'Jailhouse Rock' be on 100% with 15 tickies and 'Suspicious Minds' be on 100% with just 14? LJ-Poll ERROR!

A lot of love for 'Return To Sender' which surprises me... I've always been a fan, but mainly because Wycombe used to have a right back called Danny Senda, and the fans used to sing 'Return To Sender' at him.

'Suspicious Minds' is blatantly the best thing the Pelvis ever did.

I was flabberghasted the first time I heard 'It's Now Or Never'. I honestly thought as a child that the cornetto song was an old Italian folk tune appropriated for selling ice cream, and that that was the joke. Unless Elvis has appropriated an old Italian folk tune for the purposes of selling, er, Elvis.

I am reading about Elvis on wikipedia. It's fascinating! I had to edit some poor spelling in the first section though. 'forth worst' instead of 'fourth worst' is just unacceptable.

Yes, you could read A Little Less Conversation (which I haven't ticked, I think it's annoying) as a pretty scummy misogynist rant, but there's nowt wrong with US Male (which I did tick), is there? It's just Elvis using the threat of violence to keep some guy from hanging around his fiancee - the stereotypical behaviour of the tituar big-headed, stomp-happy sh1tkicker, which the lyrics point out in a fairly funny way.

Hurrah! It must have been well exciting as a teenager to see someone doing teh sechsy moves on the telly when all you usually got was Dean Martin wibbling on in a suit.
