EVEN MORE TICKS THAN CLIFF. Jebus, Mr Presley was a busy bunny! In the first 3 years of his career he released 25 hit singles! And I'm sure he would have kept churning them out at a rate of knots if he hadn't joined the army/made a bunch of rubbish fillums/et less burgers.

I've left off the re-issues but there's still hella-ticky under the cut. You have THIRTY FOUR ticks to show your Elvis love. Uh-huh-huh!

Both have (a) a great tune and (b) a fantastic sound and backbeat. But can anyone defend the lyrics?

Yes, you could read A Little Less Conversation (which I haven't ticked, I think it's annoying) as a pretty scummy misogynist rant, but there's nowt wrong with US Male (which I did tick), is there? It's just Elvis using the threat of violence to keep some guy from hanging around his fiancee - the stereotypical behaviour of the tituar big-headed, stomp-happy sh1tkicker, which the lyrics point out in a fairly funny way.

I guess you're right. It was the woman = "property" line I took umbrage at when Wogan played this the other day. Hence my deciding to link "US Male" in toto with the other song (from same year, originally?)
