Nothing hugely dramatic in yesterday's fites - possibly today's will generate more conflict!

I was filled with indifference today - I could've voted the other way on each and every one of these.

The only GnR song I can see real merit in is 'Welcome To The Jungle'. TLC gets an easy tick.

Trickier this as I can never decided whether Morrisey's moaning is perfectly suited to the drone underneath, or just childish whingeing. Benefit of the doubt here as this is the best Smiths song but DP have done much better.

Best Madonna song trumps 5th best Britney song.

Heard LWTUA *way* too many times. And put up with enough people on the dancefloor looking around quizzically for the first ten seconds going "What's this? Ohhhhhhh" even though its played EVERY WEEK argh.

Though saying that, the Max M post-middle-eight-rework here is one of his best. OOPS I!

Have I really missed something with GnR? I like overblown rock stupidity and dodgy hairdos but I find Axl and chums to be the least charismatic rock band ever. Their songs and their attitude just leave me cold. As I said above, I quite like the riff from Welcome To The Jungle but the tweedly bit on Sweet Child is like a lame duck compared with Van Halen, the sing-a-long pop is done better by Bon Jovi and the RAWK is done better by Metallica. And plus they are to blame for the Manics.

Their videos are a different matter entirely - November Rain is magnificent. Shame about the song.

Even easier than yesterday's!

No excuses for anyone ticking G'n'sodding'R over TLC, seriously. None whatsoever. One of the best singles ever versus one of the most atrocious.

I don't even like 'One More Time' but 'How Soon Is Now?' is disgusting. This is the first fight that I haven't actively thought either song was any good at all.

'Vogue' pwns all, 'Oops' isn't actually all that high in the Britney pantheon but I don't even think Britney's best would beat 'Vogue'. STRIKE A POSE, &c.

I have no idea how anyone with ears/soul/heart could pick Joy Division over Destiny's Child. The former is OK but seriously when do you EVER want to listen to it? The latter is heart-stoppingly brilliant and I want to listen to it RIGHT NOW.

Is this going to be a re-run of En Vogue v Nirvana? If so I think we should rename this community BORING ROCK CANONTIMISTS, and then send people to POP RE-EDUCATION CLASSES, which will include MAOIST SELF-DENUNCIATION.

'Sweet Child O' Mine' is one of the least liberating and joyful things I have EVER HEARD!!!!!! It is an AWFUL NOISE - even 'Love Will Tear Us Apart' is happier because there is at least the bossa nova cover.

I can't believe you ticked it over TLC :((((((((

Manics are pretty entertaining round 'The Holy Bible'.

They appear to be quite charismatic to me.

NOT TO ME - this is like saying Pete Doherty is charismatic! Tabloid-friendly cvntiness != charisma.

This is actually completely true (also, it's true of '1 Thing' but sshhhh I want people to keep ticking that). But its ideas are at least listenable in the first place.

The Holy Bible is a good album (don't tell anyone I said that) but it also sounds v little like GnR compared to Generation Terrorists etc. In general I dislike the Manics intensely and am quite annoyed that they made a really rather good album so I can't slate them properly.

Axl's screwed up unwashed face and the horrible screeching that emanates from it is far from appealing. The rest of them aren't much better (Slash might as well be on Mars for all he adds to proceedings). There's a lesson there kids: don't be medical guinea pigs for cigarette companies.

The reason I don't mind 'No Scrubs' circling round and round in its last two minutes is because its chorus isn't particularly massive! With '1 Thing' the burstiness of the chorus loses its impact in the final stages whereas 'No Scrubs' settles into a lovely slinky going-nowhere groove.

Pete D = among least charismatic people I've ever met. But let's not bring that up again.

Also Amerie's voice is a pleasure to listen to. Opposite end of the scale to Axl :-)

Dude, you sound like the Lex! The intro to SCOM alone is abt 6 grillion times better than anything the bleedin' Manics ever did.

For me it merely signifies the start of four minutes of mediocre rock.

Well G'n'R 'appear', as i very rarely pick up on tabloids and celebrity sections, and I was 10 when they were having their hits, so there is the distance from all that. Axl has disappeared

Charisma is a hard quality to grasp: sometimes the good, the bad and the ugly in a person can = charisma.

I quite like the (from what I remember) organ at the end of '1 thing', it lets the song down gently.

Kat is completely, completely otm with every word except the ones about The Holy Bible being a good album.

'Motorcycle Emptiness' >>>>>>>>>> everything GNR-related ever, though.

I feel so old :( Many ladies of my generation (ie early 30s) seem to have a soft spot for Axl, 'screwed up unwashed face' indeed!
