Elton and his windy candle brought up the rear with a solitary tick. This week we have Dutch painters, Mary Whitehouse-offending metaphors and glam-rock in full swing - it's 1972!

I was going to post telling you not to grouse, the U.S. had it much worse, but then I actually looked at the U.S. # ones and they were quite good. Michael Jackson, Al Green, the Staple Singers, Neil Young, Neil Diamond, Temptations, etc. (Not to mention My Ding-A-Ling.)
