Great rejoicing at Lex Towers as Aaliyah finally wins a Now poll - she's in it again, as are a few other former winners, as are the Sugababes, and Scooter, Ms Dynamite, Nelly and...Idlewild. Summer 2002 - it was really hot, there was some terrific pop in the charts and a World Cup was on. How times change...

[Poll #746498]

TICKNO TICKNO TICKNO TICKNO!

This will be the LAST Now poll for over TWO WEEKS as I'm on holiday from Wednesday, so enjoy it while you can. The final 12 volumes in the series will occupy us nicely during July and August I'm sure.

Space Cowboy is my favourite thing on here, it is absolutely cracking.

The dance stuff on it is grebt, agreed. The pop could do better! I think Nelly is prob the only Superstar POP track on here (ie that could rival Shy FX, Scooter or Shakedown in my affections)

Also, Dee Dee is pretty rub but I totally concur with you abt Shakedown! There is a grebt Braxe remix of it.

Modern dance music has passed some of us by, it's true, and when I ask my friends for recommendations, I get ILM-friendly microhouse bollocks instead of proper bosh.

As I think I said on an earlier NOW! thread, I followed proper club dance music quite closely in 2000-01, but am far less clued up on the big tunes since then. "Shakedown" I do know tho' (thanks to ILM, via one of Seigbran or Ronan's mixes prolly) and have ticked.

Not at all! It's just that some ppl find it harder to instantly recall dance music as easily as pop.

I used to be k-fussy about my particular acceptable dance genres but dude, anything goes now...

It's also that even the most prominent dance tracks elucidate a "how did that one go?" response ie SANDSTORM.

Moony = the same woman who sang DB Boulevard's Point of View off the last now. Another great summer tune and so pop I can't understand why people wouldn;t want to tick
