Back. Back! BACK!!! It's the Now poll, this time muscled into 1996 by an Oasis track on each arm. Now 32 was a second win for Pulp, closer this time though with Coolio and Shaggy trailing. Can Pulp make it 3 in a row? On paper this looks like a weak opposition but who knows which way the whim of Poptimists will wend?

I listened to it again this morning and it's astonishingly proto-Girls Aloud. Someone needs to do a cover of it but replace Camden with Dalston.

I also relistened to Pulp for the first time in ages and I was totally not feeling the actual songs as much as I thought I would - 'Common People' and 'Disco 2000' are great but they've been totally overplayed so that actually hearing them just makes me bored.
