Welcome to Now 29, the summer of 1994, and The Big One as far as some Poptimists regulars are concerned - some legendary pop tunes, some legendary horrors, the first (and maybe ONLY) appearance of JUNGLE on a Now, the first (and far from only) appearance of WASIS, Kylie at the height of her Select-induced critical acclaim, boyband minnows Ultimate Kaos and 2wo 3hirds, the mighty Whigfield, AND MORE! What can possibly win???

Meanwhile when the dust settled on Now 28 none other than BLUR had won it, by one vote over Salt N Pepa and En Vogue, with Prodigy in third. What does this BODE as the Britpop years get rolling? Much diversity in the Damon Allbran career highpoints - watch for a Friday Canon on this very topic soon.

This was the single I first became aware of Oasis. I thought it was completely unlistenable (his voice!) but my growing loathing was directly correlated to their growing popularity. Even last year, when I walked past the Astoria the day they played, I was shocked and appalled to see a queue stretching into Soho Square; as I recall, my companions had to forcibly drag me from the scene in order to stop me frothing at the mouth and hurling insults at the cvnts in the queue. AAARGH I hate them so much!

1) it has no tune
2) it has the worst vocalist I have ever heard in my life (including tramps, drunk rugby boys, Heather Small &c) on it
3) they are cvnts cvnts cvnts.

I really like C&A. As far as I'm concerned you can keep this and Supersonic and get rid of everything else.

Hmm, mebbe. If I let this through, I reckon 'Up In The Sky' and 'Whatever' would have to come with it tho
