Some intriguing selections on the 25th Now album - still deep in 93 territory here - though I can only see one or two of these as real contenders. Something interesting here is how the reggae and ragga stuff has edged out the dance tracks largely into a fairly weedy selection in the middle of question 2. Elsewhere we have a blink-and-you-miss-it appearance by Kingmaker, a bumsex classic from Inner Circle, REM getting their pension in and East 17's frankly curious cover of West End Girls.

Only one of them can follow "No Limits" into the Pop And Poll Hall of Fame: it beat Sub Sub by two votes, with Take That and Shaggy behind. A remarkable and heart-warming rehabilitation - I wonder how many people hated Ver Limits back in the day (my conscience is clear on this one mind you). Ugly Kid Joe, Fab Macca and The Bluebells caught the biggest beatings, and while there was no real consensus on indie disco classics it's given me some bad ideas for Poptimism.

GO GO POLL RANGERS!

I remember that, it was a very strange spoken word mid-tempo r&b thing - v girly verses, giggles and gasps punctuating stream-of-consciousness narrative about how buff some boy is, then the chorus went "somewhere round the corner, somewhere did he go". I remember wondering wtf it was at the time because it never charted! It's good.

Blimey, this is a poor selection. I don't even remember at least 40% of the tracks.

Is 'All that she wants' about someone looking for a shag, or is it about someone looking to get pregnant? I always thought the latter, see (and we even had silly made up words about it). And I always thought it was a slightly odd subject. And I have ONLY JUST noticed potential less-odd meaning.

Hang on I am the only person so far who thinks 'Dreams' is any good?! It is a pinnacle of pop culture! It is awesomely uplifting and life-affirming. And she had an EYE-PATCH.

It's a slowish one...almost pre-empting Big Beat. all i remember is the "Iiiiiiiiiiii Waaaaaaaaaaant Yoooooooooooou" with the 'You' being messed around with pitch-wise.

It was used on an advert for Fisherman's Friend 'sweets' in the mid 90s.

Aha, my first Now purchase. And first ever Album purchase. The wonder of the compilation CD was a new one to the young Kat, and persuaded her to invest yet more shiny pounds on this particular series.

ARF just remembered about Joey Lawrence. He was Blossom's boyfriend!

also poor Juliet Roberts. 'Caught In The Middle' is recognised as a diva's handbag classic (see also Barbara Tucker's 'Beautiful People')...i think it was just a bit too tasteful for it's own good. certainly it palls into insignifance against a revived Gaynor.

I had a really difficult time choosing the worst! "What's Up" and "Everybody Hurts" are probably the worst singles of the DECADE, and yet here they are on the same compilation.

I didn't like 2 Unlimited at all at their time. DEATH TO FALSE RAVE basically. I started warming to them after a while once I heard the European versions with Ray's rapping, eventually developing a crush on Anita Dels just before they went down the dumper.
