I had always assumed Magnetic Fields were guitary, having never really heard them!

Baxendale are as Pop as they are Indie (the point, presumably), though I understand that attempting to co-opt the two makes you purely the latter according to some (EH?)

I guess with some of these acts it's also a question of their distribution and physical gigging existences - generically they may not play 'indie' but they certainly form part of an indie 'scene'. I would be quite surprised if this wasn't true of the Knife too.
