Fear not dudes - the 2011 chart polls will return as a monthly endeavour. Hopefully there will be enough songs per month that everyone will find something to tick. In the meantime, here's a quick poll about a certain upcoming awards ceremony (full list of nominations here)...

In all honesty, that Scouting For Girls song is one of the better things on that list.

i was going to vote for "pass out", but "dynamite" reminds me of driving round miami on holiday last year and it being on all of the radio stations on extremely heavy rotation.

also, i'd like to add mcfly "shine a light" (again with taio cruz) to the great songs of 2010. and "party girl" was pretty good too! thinking about it though, it was a pretty poor year for good uk pop singles overall.

Yes, this is a good point- Party Girl was excellent and certainly deserves entry to the list over Olly c0cking Murs!

I like she said as a song but even though I do really love him it would be good to not have yet another piece of pop culture rape propaganda.

it's good, but stay too long would have been an even better choice from him

also didn't chezza release a single, which was about a million times better than parachute, this year? WHY THAT ONE?

Promise This and yes.

Although in all honesty Chezza is not much of a prospect.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH EVERYONE?

Is this one decided by sales? I can't remember. I have the feeling someone told Example it was on Twitter when he suggested it might have been nice to have some listenable music in it.

Oh yes, sorry, I meant the shortlist. It seemed the only possible explanation for this "fiasco."

From the Brits website:

"The 10 nominated singles have been selected based on the greatest volume of commercial radio air-play, as well as sales results in the 2010 calendar year."

Not really a cover but the thing that singularly bores me the most about The Wanted is the fact they named their first (guitary) single after an emo band that many young women of a persuasion to like the Wanted are in. It's so utterly cynical I feel it merits thousands of enraged internet graphics in Music Secret (RIP) or something.
