Yet ANOTHER year in pop?

Happy new year Poptimists! We begin 2010 in the same way we began 2009, with Lady Gaga at number 1.

As the charts were rather less than inspiring in 2009, I thought we might swizz stuff around for 2010. What do you think?

You have until 5pm today to vote in the 2009 chart polls (pssst! Go and vote for Bad Romance, dudes!) - I'll tally up the spreadsheet and post the results later this week. The 2004 polls will start up again next week (werk permitting!).

I ticked "keep as is" just because that would be easiest for me to keep up with, since I've been more or less committing myself to blurb every new track. But "monthly poll of new Top 40 entries" would be my second choice (though I'd be much less likely to blurb them, and therefore less likely to listen to everything with attention, or to listen to everything period, and my guess is that people would be less likely to listen to what they hadn't heard). A Top 75 or Top 100 could be overwhelming.

But I'd think the top two considerations would be: (1) what works for Kat, and (2) what is likely to provoke the best discussion.

Lex coming back would be a big help.
