Missy, Shakira, Eminem, The Streets and Brandy are all through in a close heat, with Jimmy Eat World beating Las Ketchup by one tiny vote in the run-off; koganbot, meserach, justfanoe and myself get an extra tick for heat #1 in 2003. So who are our qualifiers?

i'm gonna nominate fewer songs from now on - less 'stuff i think should be included' and more 'stuff i would actually tick' - this may help speed things up

I still want a 'top 40' from each year so the number of noms we've had so far are probably fine. However 2003 was the peak year for charting single releases this decade (according to anatol's graph!) so if dudes could apply moderate restraint regarding the less-awesome chart picks that would be smashing thx :)

Key to my non-chart nominations for 2003 are answers to the following two questions:

* What year do we count The Dresden Doll's debut, self-titled album as being released in? They released it on their own label in 2003, and then on Roadrunner in 2004.

* What year was Outkast's "SPeakerboxx/THe Love below" released in for our purposes? "Hey Ya!" charts in 2003, and the album was definitely released then in the States, but the album doesn't chart in the UK until 2004....

Yes but I've been using everyhit's normal search results for all the singles so far. The system would fall into CHAOS if I tried to do the peaking dates. CHAOS I TELL YOU.
