You'll have to wait until next Tuesday for Heat #6 as my spreadsheet is at work and I am not - but luckily there's some unfinished business to be had!

Tweet, Aaliyah, Eminem and Kylie all made it through to the next round, but who will proceed out of QOTSA and LCDS?

[Poll #1465333]

Also, I'll extend the deadline for dudes who want to go fishing for their favourite newly-heard song to earn an extra tick for Heat #6 - once you've made your choice, go back and fill in the last text box on the previous poll.

Remember! POPTIMISM TONIGHT! Be there or be a member of 911 that isn't Spike!

It's got to be No One Knows; I've been listening to it all morning and it just literally is extremely brilliant.

Mmm... abstaining.

"No One Knows" is a perfectly fine rocker (thanks for reminding me) but that's all. "Losing My Edge" is classic but I'm still suffering LCD fatigue.

You will know me at Poptimism tonight for the frightening bandage over my eye (fear not), assuming my motivation doesn't dissipate by then.

Also, still trolling for a spotify invite, if someone can zip one to mitya_ilx@mail.ru.

Cheers!

And I will be the person who turns up at 10:30 and rants about work (sorry world!) but I reiterate that Easy Lover must be saved until my arrival!

Obviously the real answer is SHAKIRA, which is why I am abstaining. (That and the fact that I do not like either of the choices, heh.)

Grateful for the extension; I was still in the middle of deciding my last two ticks (having spent most of the last two days wallowing in my sickbed), haha. At least my picks aren't going to affect any results, so I can get away with changing my votes late... :)

These are both great, but No One Knows is really special - that crazy, polka-ish rhythm and incredible drums, that riff with the irresistable TWANG! at the end, the conspiratorial vocal. And best of all, something that rarely happens: it's a HEAVY ROCK song with melody, personality and a sense of fun - which means it is a total POP song at the same time. It might be the best guitar-led record of the last twenty years.

I'm a big fan of Losing My Edge and LCD Soundsystem in general, but there's no competition for me here.

Change your votes.

I admit, I'm not 100% on which song "No One Knows" is. I'll relisten this weekend and re-tick as appropriate.

LCD Soundsystem = one of my biggest ever "Meh, I don't get it", they are like a joyless They Might Be Giants.
