Cheers erupt from the J-Lo fanclub as she squeezes into the final behind Outkast, Eve & Gwen, Missy and Mis-teeq. Sophie E-B on the other hand is wiping her tears on Dude from The Feeling's velvet jacket sleeve.

On to heat #6, which is absolutely banging in my opinion, but who will make it through?

  • You get a maximum of TEN TICKS over the three bits of the poll. The top five will go through to the next stage.

  • If you want to change your vote (or tick too many by mistake), you can edit your votes by clicking on 'Poll #12345' then 'Fill Out Poll'.

it is the fastest song to clear a dancefloor at 2am in Aberystwyth.

(proving of course that Aberystwyth is WRONG, although it still gets no ticks from me)

To be honest, they would've missed everything after literally the first line. On the plus side, if I ever want a bunch of students to fvck off and go home, obviously I can whip this one out. (CALLING PETE, etc.)

Velvet Underground's "Sister Ray" = "Perfect Gentleman" of New Haven, 1972

(Never tried it on a dance floor, but was very good for "Please get the fuck out of my room so I can work or sleep thank you and yes I DO think this is music, no I'm not playing pretend thank you again.")

Sister Ray was also very effective for clearing the room at parties in West London, c1987. Of course, why you would want to clear the room at a party is a question best left to the twisted minds of teenagers.

Teenagers are like Greta Garbo.

I will be most sad if this doesn't make it through. I do love "Perfect Gentleman".

I for one second this opinion. :-)

Also I may have been drunked by I have stood by it on a number of occasions.

If this doesn't go through I will be very upset.

I'm going to make a somewhat half-heared appeal for this to be boosted to beat Andrew W.K. into fifth place.

Many wonderfully ridiculous touches in this.

ALSO, the sugababes appear to be getting through by default, i don't think i can even remember how it goes!!!

wyclef and andrew both deserve to go through over that...

'Run For Cover' is the Sugababes' finest single! The really sweeping one with loads of gorgeous harmonies and strings - one of the best songs even in this super-strong heat.

every time i try to think of it, it turns into Push the Button in my head (and no music listening facilities at work to remind myself)

It's not much like 'Push The Button'. Midtempo, not a banger!

"It doesn't really matter, sometimes we run for cover, I'm always on the ouuutsiiiiiide" - it's EPIC stuff. Amazing "makes me wanna scream, scream, scream, scream" breakdown in the middle 8 too.
