Cheers erupt from the J-Lo fanclub as she squeezes into the final behind Outkast, Eve & Gwen, Missy and Mis-teeq. Sophie E-B on the other hand is wiping her tears on Dude from The Feeling's velvet jacket sleeve.

On to heat #6, which is absolutely banging in my opinion, but who will make it through?

Am I really the first person to tick "Oochie Wally"?

Look, let's all go and tick it now and then I can delete this post and you won't have to have the Lex shouting at you all thread.

(Same goes for Peaches N Cream actually)

Peaches N Cream makes me feel a bit sick. :( Not on a food-based level I just actually really dislike the song.

I ticked 'Peaches & Cream' - don't know exactly why, but that song stuck in my head far longer than it should have done, based on the relatively small number of times I ever heard it.

The phrase "Oochie wallie wallie" is ringing bells but the artist name means nothing to me. The song I'm thinking of had a female singing the phrase... I think...

Ooh hang on, was this on that DJ/Rupture mix from '01 or '02? That may have been where I've heard it, if anywhere.

Yeah the artist name doesn't help - it was a posse cut and so QBs Finest never (AFAIK) did anything else. It's Nas and a bunch of his mates basically.

Yeah it's a girl who sings it - you know, I STILL don't know who she was, or if she was ever credited.

I appreciate your encouragement but :(((((

I also didn't see 'Peaches N Cream' until now, and now have to go away and do some HARD THINKING about my ticks :(

Love "Oochie Wally" as a track but Nas tends to hit my snooze button as a rapper, always sounding like he's explaining something, while I nod off.

(I probably always sound like I'm explaining something too.)

This has to be the most obvious, specific, right there-in-the-text, we-entirely-ditched-any-concept-of-metaphor-about-thirty-seconds-in song to contain the lyrics "know what I mean?"

Brilliant, though.
