Cheers erupt from the J-Lo fanclub as she squeezes into the final behind Outkast, Eve & Gwen, Missy and Mis-teeq. Sophie E-B on the other hand is wiping her tears on Dude from The Feeling's velvet jacket sleeve.

On to heat #6, which is absolutely banging in my opinion, but who will make it through?

'Rollin' is probably the only song in the world that I consider a 'guilty pleasure'. Listening to it is like wanting people on Big Brother to be nasty to each other because it make for good television. Solid tick IMHO!

I think you're right, tbh; hearing old Limp Bizkit is curious - they're obviously obnoxious and not very talented, but they feel like even more of a boundary act/gateway drug for the Scene today than the heralds of Nu-Metal they were at the time.

Yeah; they're really awful and I hate to endorse them and I DESPISED them at the time, quite rightly (this was about the only thing I was doing right but hey, can't get them all) but ...it is kind of awesome?

It is awesome for me because: watching the video you see the backing dancer girls waving their arms up and down to the 'hands up now hands down' bit and from side to side during the 'rollin rollin rollin' bit and you catch yourself thinking I WANT TO WAVE MY ARMS UP AND DOWN AND FROM SIDE TO SIDE.

Not really! Very little has changed in terms of dudes having the fisheye lens camera on the floor, ladies dancing on a Aztec-pyramid-style podium, band playing on the roof of a skyscraper (cf Take That Greatest Day).

What the hell drugs are you on you mad mad people, drugs to make your ears fall off? It has not aged well in the slightest but the larger point is that even if time has softened your feelings towards it, there is a shit ton of ACTUALLY INCREDIBLY BRILLIANT stuff in this heat - is anyone SRSLY going to argue that 'Rollin' is better than 'Oochie Wally', Kelis, Lina, Foxy B, Petey P, Usher, J-Lo? And even the stuff I loved but couldn't tick - Oxide & Neutrino, Björk, Wu-Tang.
