Missy Elliott gets the highest turnout of the decade so far, with a whopping 49 votes to win heat #3. Daft Punk, S Club 7 and Mary J Blige are safely through, but Alicia and DanBed tie for fifth - see below for the run-off.

Today's poll sees double J-Lo remix action, microgoth, mashups, possible incest and the Jackson Five (sort of). It's heat #4, everybody!

I went back and listened to this and... hrrm, I can name at least 5 SP songs/remixes I like better! Tho I've never had a dancefloor moment* to this one, unlike say, 'Irre' or 'Happiness' or 'Mushroom' or 'Fieber'.

*Not necessarily on an actual dancefloor but you know what I mean.

I don't actually know what you mean - when I've heard the phrase before I've assumed it's been about "the moment when a great bit of a record hits and a dancefloor goes mental cf most of Dig Your Own Hole". But that's just my assumption.

Ah ok - it's hard to describe properly but I mean it as the feeling when the world suddenly becomes exciting/dangerous/beautiful/[insert powerful emotional adjective here] and you realise that the universe is a wonderful place to inhabit because this song also exists in said universe, as opposed to 30 seconds ago when the sum achievement of mankind was merely 'pretty good'. I say 'dancefloor moment' because that's where the feeling turns up most often for me (surrounded by like-minded folk who can feel what the music is doing to them as well), but it also happens when looking at sunsets out of train windows/finally snogging awesome people after years of wondering/etc.

That point where your heart changes slightly and your throat nearly closes because you're slightly scared to exist in a universe with this much awesome.

I might make a thread about this sensation tomorrow, cus I think it's something that's somehow v. important to the way Poptimists appreciate music, assuming I can get at the internets.
