Missy Elliott gets the highest turnout of the decade so far, with a whopping 49 votes to win heat #3. Daft Punk, S Club 7 and Mary J Blige are safely through, but Alicia and DanBed tie for fifth - see below for the run-off.

Today's poll sees double J-Lo remix action, microgoth, mashups, possible incest and the Jackson Five (sort of). It's heat #4, everybody!

  • You get a maximum of TEN TICKS over the three bits of the poll. The top five will go through to the next stage.

  • If you want to change your vote (or tick too many by mistake), you can edit your votes by clicking on 'Poll #12345' then 'Fill Out Poll'.

  • UK chart placings given in brackets.

  • You have until Friday lunchtime to vote.

  • Rep for your favourites in the comments! Youtube embeds very welcome.

Best two here are Waking Up To Us, a magnificent bit of pop from Belle and Sebastian, and Jay-Z's wonderful Izzo. I am super happy that I can tick both of these with a clear head.

Slave 4 You was the first crack in my indie snob armour after several years of pop shunning, so I have a very special fondness for it! And YES to the still ace.

I'm a Slave 4 You was the first Britney track I ever paid any attention to in my indie wilderness years, mainly because my girlfriend of the time did some furious repping for it, i.e. playing it at every given opportunity.

Jonathan David is much better, I agree. But that does not preclude this from being really really really good indeed,.

meh.

yes, i know i'm a bit snooty when it comes to b&s, given that they are the answer i give when people ask me who my favourite band is, but the early funny stuff is just so much better
