Best Song of 2000: Heat #4
Jun. 16th, 2009 12:16 pmHeat #3 was even closer than Heat #2! Kelis gets two more songs through with the help of ODB; the rest of the Wu Tang Clan join Spiller & Sophie E-B in the final. But it's a six-way stalemate for 5th place! Look for the tie-breaker at the end of this poll...

[Poll #1416502]
Livin' together alone
Date: 2009-06-17 08:05 am (UTC)Song that I ticked that Lex might like even less than Radiohead: "Kryptonite." Sorta sounds like the Nickelback guy with pants that aren't quite as tight but with more of a whine. I sometimes like whine.
Cliffhanger: "I Need" is only 7 votes out of fifth place.
Surmise: My suspicion is that many poptimists are not using this competition as a chance to explore country music.
Hilarity: SHeDAISY's "Lucky 4 You" barely squeaked onto my tick list (edging out Beanie Sigel) but is quite funny so you should make an effort to listen.
More hilarity: Martina McBride's "Love's The Only House" is even funnier than "Lucky 4 You" and it's not trying to be ("And we got teenagers walkin' around in a culture o' darkness livin' together alone"). It's a better song too, a big-hearted shouter that manages to be haunting as well, like if Springsteen had ever managed to untangle his muscles. (The link is the only one I could find with the original video; if Yahoo won't let Brits play it, scroll up a few posts to where Greg's embedded the tune.)
