Nominations reminder
May. 28th, 2009 10:31 amBlimey, I've already got 253 nominations for the best song of 2000! Plus at least two dozen that have been shunted over to another year.
You've still got until 8pm BST on Monday to nominate, which you can do by going here and leaving a comment (don't worry if you think someone might have already nominated something, I can easily get rid of duplicates in my spreadsheet).
meserach has kindly put together a Spotify playlist of the nominations so far, feel free to add stuff in there but please leave a comment on the original post as well, otherwise I might miss your nomination.
New guideline: if a song made the UK top ten in a particular year then that will definitely count as its poll year. Re-entries will default to the earliest year.
Stuff on Now 46 that no-one has nominated yet:
Mary Mary : "Shackles (Praise You)"
Gabrielle : "When a Woman"
Tom Jones and Mousse T : "Sex Bomb"
Shania Twain : "Don't Be Stupid (You Know I Love You)"
Billie Piper : "Day and Night"
Louise : "2 Faced"
Damage : "Ghetto Romance"

Date: 2009-05-28 12:20 pm (UTC)Can I suggest batches of 40 or 50 songs, and we can tick our 10 favourites? Possibly even more ruthless than that, since that would take say six polls to get down to 60 tracks, so that might require another three polls to get to a top ten. Perhaps divide the number of noms by 5 and let the top 10 of each such batch through, then a final poll to reduce 50 to a top 10? I'd also suggest two batches a week, or each year will take 6 weeks, and even on a perfectly efficient schedule, that means we don't get the final until next May.
