X-Factor runner-up Eoghan "Eggnog-Soggoth" Quigg has done a song about THE INTERWEBS:

"Does your snow white skin ever see the sunshine?"
"We've got no chance if you're always preoccupied with your Second Life"

I hate to say it but this is actually brilliant.

In what sense could this song possibly be brilliant? It's a pop song for kids that isn't even catchy. I thought the damage Busted caused upon British kids pop was over but it seems sadly not.

Well it's brilliant in the sense that the people that will be most receptive to this song will almost surely be the people he is attacking. Songwise not sure if I'm down though...

I don't think Eoghan is really attacking them, though. Isn't he just saying "There's more to life than the Internet"? The songwriters have capitalised on what is the biggest current fad with kids his age i.e. sites like MySpace, and since there's not really anywhere to go with a song celebrating it, it makes more sense to criticise it, since that's also a very common viewpoint currently. It's quite a nice, modern sentiment, but it can't make up for the lack of poptasticness... or Eoghan's face, or his lack of either a) talent or b) personality. I think he'll be a one half-hit wonder.
