HELLO IT'S MONDAY, THE CHARTS HAVE JUST BEEN RELEASED THIS IS ALL VERY EXCITING. Honest. Sorry, I should have done this before but regretfully fail at knowing which month it is, let alone what day. Many thanks to the vigilant
koganbot for reminding me.
This week we have a half-arsed trio of songs that makes you realise you really should have listened to '808s and Heartbreak' by now.

The beauty of the female specimens
Date: 2009-01-02 02:03 am (UTC)50 Cent "Get Up": Ominous and catchy, snarling and seductive, in other words Fiddy doing typical Fiddyness, but it's all sounding worn out. BORDERLINE NONTICK.
The Saturdays "Issues": All dressed-up in bright colors, but this is even more wan and exhausted than the Fiddy. I wonder what motivates even Saturdays fans to download it. But why content myself with wondering, let's go to the YouTube comments: "I Love This Song, Una's Part Is The Best But OMG At Mollie's Face @ 2:25!" "This is the best song they have eva done. Dey are so pretty & hav great voices." "love the saturday's!! such a talented girl group and nice to see Frankie bak! :)"* "they have amazing voices!!! they are also so beautiful! love the song..." "Una is absolutely sensational isn't she lol. The rest of the group is is great too but Una is some beauty of the female specimens." So the answer to my query seems to be "Una." NO TICK.
Kanye West "Heartless": Liked it a lot when it showed up on Billboard, but it isn't holding up very well. The eighth notes chug along nicely enough, while Kanye hums along, murmurs along, wails along. Lyrics are a rough sketch: his suffering... all the girl's fault... reminds of those Neil Young songs I listened to in high school. Half-assed and only half-affecting, but that's still a TICK.
*Hey, it's good to be back.
