T2's follow-up to 'Heartbroken' is even better - the mexican trumpet at the start is genius. Out next week.

Deliquent feat. KCat: My Destiny - the normal mix is good, but the Bassline radio mix is much better, with all sorts of throbs and thworps and squiggly noises going on in the mix. Out this week.

'the mexican trumpet at the start is genius'

when i first heard it i thought it was terrible - cheap and nasty and suggestive of self-imposed genre limitations e.g. all your synth sounds coming from the same place - instead of trying to use real brass or whatever.

i may have over-reacted a little but it does irk me how cheap it sounds.

I fvcking *love* Gonna Be Mine. Long may the cheap and nasty sound continue as far as I'm concerned, the moment bassline starts to feel glossier is the moment it starts the slow descent towards funky house badness.

Also the cheap, ravey asepcts are one of the main differentiators from 2-step as far as I can see.
