They've reformed, they're touring, they're putting a new record out.

1. Do you care?
2. Were they ever pop?
3. If not why not?
4. What's yr favourite MBV song?

i don't think i really do care. so many people i know love them, as do a lot of the techno dudes i love these days, and i haven't really given them a fair try - i have heard one of their albums on in the background once, i thought it was like enya but with guitars instead of vox, ie a bit worse but not unpleasant, but still dull. if i am in that sort of 'mood' these days i have burial to serve my purposes! i mean, i guess i vaguely want to see what the fuss is about, but not enough to actually do anything about it. i certainly don't care that they're reforming! no one should reform! why is everyone reforming these days? that sucks, and it sucks that people get excited about it.

Reforming is never a good idea. I can't think of anyone who has done this well.

yeah i can see why bands do it (money is good) but it's vaguely depressing that they tend to have a guaranteed audience. i'm thinking of all my favourite bands over the years and i honestly think i'd be a bit repulsed if any of them reformed. well, eg the spice girls. yes.
