Hey Popsters!

I just watched a countdown of perfect pop records from each of the last twenty years.

My brain was hit by the fact there are people in here who know A LOT about perfect pop and making music.

Was wondering whether any of you were up for forming a band (self not included) and taking on the challenge of the 'perfect Poptimist pop record'?

What was in the countdown?

I can't play an instrument but I have a dog-eared copy of the Manual and an MP3 of "Mouldy Old Dough".

- morrissey ( or more gorrectly his pianist, michael farrell ) played mouldy old dough to a very puzzled audience at the london palladium a gouple of years ago - so now i'm q.fond of the tune

I remember you claiming that the real reason you didn't like Baxendale was the realisation that this was what you and yr mates would sound like if they were a band.

Also: Carsmile v3!

Yes I've said this about a lot of things - I know very well that if I actually made "tunes" they would tend towards mimsical indie.

I've kind of had my fill at band-being-in, however I am still interested in taking a boring song and making it AMAZING. I have the ideas but not the technical ability (yet). Hello yes I want to be Bloodshy & Avant, must brush up on my Swedish etc.

Yes. Anything to distract me from this awful concept album my head keeps writing at the least appropriate moments that's based around the idea [WARNING: heavy w4nk content follows] of 'songs about me from the perspective of men I have known.' Srsly, someone needs to stop this.

I can play a violing and sing a bit.

'songs about me from the perspective of men I have known.'

Would it be bad of me to selfishly encourage this because I want to hear it?

I can't play an instrument, but if you want someone to do backing vocals/harmonies and wave a tambourine about, I'm yer man.
