Waiting around for an alBUM like you

I am in my yearly "jesus i'd better catch up on some albums then" conscience fit. It is like the fable of the grasshopper and the ant, the ant works hard listening to albums all year and has a proper year end list that they've thought about and all, whereas the poptimist grasshopper swans about listening to McFly and has no resources when winter comes in.

But now grasshoppers have the interweb so in yr face ant.

I have albums by Enrique, Infernal, Radiohead, Siobhan Donaghy, Field, Fall Out Boy, Roisin Murphy and Studio to listen to. I NEED MOAR. What albums have you heard so far this year that you would urge me to listen to?

(I know I talked to some of you about this yesterday.)

He sounds even more like a Magnetic Fields tribute act in places, but a better one than before.

He's chucked in more of the soul and disco influences this time too, the things I liked about his other stuff in the first place.

He sounds nothing like the Magnetic Fields to me! But the new record is very entertaining. More like Belle and Sebastian with intrusive random horns...

The Lekman is something else I downloaded but two tracks were enough to put me right off. Can't exactly put my finger on why - it just seemed to lack any kind of oomph.
