Yes! No! I don't know! I do know that I was a Carter fan (and a casual fan of the other stuff) and never heard them called greboes - they weren't seen as doing anything similar musically.

kind of, although emf kiiiiiiiiind of count as popgrebo, ditto newfads, neds. carter weren't grebo in the same way that the charlatans weren't britpop even though they were having hits in 96 (not a great analogy but first from top of head...)
