So who IS that guy who I nominated, the one with dreadlocks and a nacoustic guitar whose terminally dreary cover of Portishead is being advertised on the telly every time I flipping switch it on? Is his name Nathan something?

Newton Faulkner, do you mean? He crossed my mind when nominating but I don't think he's done enough yet for Indie to be shortlisted. And he could turn out to be another Jack Johnson rather than another Twang. Maybe next year though?

AH yes that's the one. I think it's just his ubiquity at the moment - EVERY SINGLE S0DDING TIME I TURN THE TELLY ON, like I say. I have no idea what he's done or how successful he's been, I just know that it's the kind of music that makes me want to chuck a brick at the telly...

WHICH IS THE SINGLE WORST COVER VERSION IN THE WORLD EVER. I'm surprised it wasn't on that Radio 1 compilation.
