Re: 'I Feel Love': best song ever
Date: 2007-04-03 12:55 pm (UTC)Great year though - two other songs at least that I like as much or nearly as much as Donna. Very few not ticked.

Date: 2007-04-03 01:00 pm (UTC)I assume this is the same CD as Disc 2 of the Bad Girls deluxe edition? If so, I agree, BEST "ALBUM" OF ALL TIME

Date: 2007-04-03 12:57 pm (UTC)Before: amazing balance of poptastic early ABBA and sorrowful later ABBA. "In these old familiar rooms..." etc.
After: A-HAAAAAAA! Icon of naff ABBA.
Oh wells!

Baccara
Date: 2007-04-03 01:01 pm (UTC)Is it really some kind of indie club classic btw? I think I remember Sarah claiming so.

Date: 2007-04-03 01:06 pm (UTC)(OK i admit it I have never heard gurls school. I don't like Mull of K but I don't hate it either, brings back pleasant impressions of early childhood, in fact it's the only one of these I remember 'at the time')

Date: 2007-04-03 01:04 pm (UTC)Best of all though is the battle between top-of-their-class ABBA and the emerging power of Mighty Moroder.
Have I said too much?
Date: 2007-04-03 01:16 pm (UTC)Epic trawl through a dozen or so versions of "Don't Cry For Me Argentina", a song I think is a deathless classic.
Re: Have I said too much?
Date: 2007-04-03 01:52 pm (UTC)The Miami mix of Madge's 'Argentina' is the single campest thing I've ever heard.

Date: 2007-04-03 03:03 pm (UTC)being unusually contrarian, i will say that personally i think it's classic status is a bit more "critical" than anything. i actuallly find it reasonably easy to ignore if you're not paying attention, and the whole point of disco should be the fact that you *can't* ignore it.
that said, i will listen again this evening to see if i'm just spouting a load of cr4p

Date: 2007-04-04 08:19 am (UTC)I have to admit I thought it was originally a Blondie song. However, I note they did a cover so that wasn't completely mad.
Hot Chocolate

NONE MORE EMO!
Only ONE tick!
Date: 2007-04-03 03:57 pm (UTC)*More likely I can't put a song to the name. I suspect I'd like the Hot Chocolate record, for example.
