Gettin' lots of favorable comment in Stylus Jukebox and on the teenpop thread (is mcatzilut's favorite song of the last couple of years). It tries too hard in several different directions, and its best strength (the beauty of the harmonies) gets overwhelmed by all the effort, but I give it a recommend.

That was in regard to "Girlfriend"; Ciara also getting favorable Jukebox comment, but I can't claim any of her tracks are new to me.

A bit of comment on Rubinoos on teenpop thread and elsewhere on ilX, my basic feeling being, "And yeah, but the Rubinoos were taking off on the Ramones 'I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend.'" Haven't seen writers credits; think a Rubinoo writer probably would deserve to be in on "Girlfriend" royalties. Legal download of the Rubinoos track, for those who are interested.
