martinskidmore's poptops o'2006 --- and find i am v.conflicted on J.COCKER esq.: i kind of think "(cvnts are still) running the world" is a really AWFUL song, dreary and ploddy in sound certainly, and the sentiment, well, this is a perfect case of "why are the ppl who voice my approximate feelings such tw@ts sometimes?"
i used to LOVE "common people" and then i kind of suddenly went off it hugely, and i'm not sure if i've ever liked another pulp song -- JC just seems a moany old git

Date: 2007-02-19 05:28 pm (UTC)It's one of the things I was thinking about as regards Long Blondes is that I do think they're in the same territory and roughly the same skill lyricwise, but the first time I heard a Pulp song (Lipgloss), I was perky-eared well before he started singing ftb it's a great pop track even just musically.
