Seedings:

Soft Cell is the #3 seed. Neneh is 19, Specials 11, En Vogue a somewhat vulnerable 27.

I have left two polls undone for the first time - can't decide yet, maybe not until I listen to the tracks. "Tainted Love" and "Kiss" are both totally iconic cold minimal classics, a great pairing really. Meanwhile "Ghost Town" is monumental but "Little Red Corvette" is Prince at his most gorgeously POP. I just don't know!

Elsewhere - love how the Spice Girls keep coming up against earlier or later girl-sass. Neneh gets this, just. The En Vogue track isn't a great favourite but nor is the Nirvana - Kurt will win this, I went for EV to keep the scores a little balanced.

Wow, looks like I might have underestimated the depth of En Vogue love.

I went for "Tainted Love" and "Corvette" - can't stand leaving questions unticked.

En Vogue's best single by far - I remember picking it as my favourite on whatever Now! it's featured on.

I do not hate Nirvana.

i have to say i will be quite happy for them to go through. i remember when Funky Divas came out and it just seemed like they could not stop releasing absolutely killer singles, and meanwhile Nirvana is changing the whole music scene.

plus their stuff still holds up really well, IMO.
