Date: 2006-11-23 02:45 pm (UTC)That said, I reckon the 80s revival and with it electroclash/house would probably have happened anyway. It's hard to imagine many of the big guitar bands of the last few years having the same impact without the appearance of the Strokes.

plus which bands REALLY sounded like The Strokes anyway? i suppose it was more 'we can be retro but in a different way' general thing. but Coldplay and co. were bigger still.

but yes...album overall admittedly owes more to Strokes i guess. i wish they'd done something that sounded EXACTLY like 'Aerodynamic' (er, see also The Darkness)
