What was so special about that Kid606 Straight Outta Compton remix again? Wasn't it just the usual horrendous splatterbreaks sort of thing that the NME was going mad over around this time?

I don't know why exactly but for whatever reason it 'worked' whereas all the V/VM shit was terrible. I think there's much more of a sense of the original song fighting back against the timestretching and breaks abuse, rather than just being some passive victim of the shafting.
