Well, she's a conventional pseudo-meaningful singer-songwriter and rock babe, which raises my ire - though not only didn't I pick her as worst, I ticked her and put "If It Makes You Happy" on my next year's P&J ballot, and "My Favorite Mistake" on the one after that, and found her sometimes great until she shifted to delicate mood music in the '00s. But I understand how people can find her sensibility loathsome or ridiculous.
