could you not say the same about 'Justify My Love' or did that stay sexy enough (despite background Kravitz)?

Well, I love "Justify," but you've kind of got a point. I'd say that the background Kravitz helped to drive it along and make it rock. It was basically sampled from Public Enemy (right?). "Justify" was when Xhuxk told me that Madonna was getting boring, but I didn't believe him.

I was actually gonna pick 'Erotica' as most important because it showed Madonna making 90s transition i.e. still popular, still doing good pop. But I think I actually was also a bit bored of her at the time - 'Deeper And Deeper' came out at the very end of the year and it was a grower. Now I adore that track and think it's the best on the album. Epic disco pop rules.

"Deeper and Deeper" was good. As of course are other post-'91 Mads. But compared to "Holiday," it all felt tired. Maybe the problem is that inexplicably I still expect each new album to be great, and then I'm always disappointed.

AN AWFUL FIRST WEEK AT UNI STORY:

1. Sex by Madge comes out. Much discussion.
2. Close neighbour in building is big Madonna fan and fellow "fresher" A. H4rmsw0rth - he is somewhat of a social incompetent (as are most of us).
3. Making polite conversation on learning of his Madonna fandom, I ask "Oh, did you get the Sex book then."
4. Immortal horrible reply: "I've got it - and I've had it."
