Back after a short absence it's the Pazz and Jop poll for 1991 - a particular blockbuster of a poll this with TEN ticks to be shared between 28 singles (would have been 29 but for C&C Music Factory cropping up last year too).

I can't believe this is currently in second place. I ticked it more out of sympathy than anything, expecting it to get v. few ticks.

Right. Have now unticked it in favour of Crystal Waters, which I failed to even notice until two minutes ago.

I used to have the previous album, Temperamental, which is not bad at all, and the video for "Hey Little Boy" - Syndicate of Sound's "Little Girl" with the words changed - which is very funny, just the way Christina pouts and looks cute and bitchy at the same time. Not Cher so much as Lene Lovich-Debbie Harry going into cute-bitch mode.

But I would be disturbed if "I Touch Myself" wins. Mark likes the Divinyls because they're on the Buffy OST.

haha I only really got to know "I Touch Myself" cos it's on the soundtrack to the first Austin Powers movie!

(also haha somehow I got it into my BRANE that because Susanna Hoffs is on the OST, and is married to Jay Roach, Hoffs was also lead singer of The Divinyls. Or something.)
