After much deliberation the shortlist for The Lex 20p Indie Prize has been announced:

All of these acts* have been nominated BY POPTIMISTS for their vital contributions to INDIE over the last 12 months. Let the debate commence!

I have the Guillemots album on my iPod and have never listened to it. But then again I nominated Kasabian in full devil's advocate mode.

I will post that Test Icicles Spank Rock remix for your listening pleasure this evening. Also attempt to find the bosh Automatic remix from Cross Central.

I can't imagine why a PR would think a Plan B writer might be interested in the Guillemots.

i think they're a bit too mainstream for most plan b writers, who tend to prefer drone/folk/improv/noise/etc :o

I totally misunderstood the nature of the prize and I was the one (or, uh, one of the ones?) who nominated the Guillemots, so they can be switched out for someone else if needed.
