RIGHT. Let's get this one over with. Now 61 is not a very good Now album. The impression of badness is enhanced by Now's sudden decision to move all the great pop tracks to the arse end of disc 2, part of the general loss of faith in pop that was sweeping the blogosphere world in 2005, at least before this very community came along to SORT IT OUT.

Gwen Stefani is your winner on Now 60, by the way.

The good stuff isn't at the arse-end of Disc 2! It's at the start of Disc 2 - 'Lonely' through to 'Crazy Chick' is a bloody good run.

'It's Like That' is, overall, amazing, but what totally lifts it into GREATNESS is the outro - just after Fatman Scoop does his solo thing, Mariah without warning starts shouting along with him - she's shouting "THIS IS MY LIFE! THIS IS MY LIFE!" and he's shouting "LET'S GO NOW WHAT! LET'S GO NOW WHAT!" and it is sonically incredible.

'We Belong Together' is the best Mariah single ever though.

According to today's Metro, James Blunt was voted 4th most annoying thing in the UK in a recent survey of 2000 Brits. Only one other of the top ten was even a person, let alone a pop act.

I've still not heard "You're Beautiful". I know how the chorus goes obv, having encountered snatches of it on chart rundowns and the like, but I've never heard the entire song (to the best of my knowledge).

This is my lowest ever "turnout" for a NOW. A mere FOUR ticks! I didn't really like the first Gorillaz single off that album; the Caesars' Palace song was overplayed in all the indie discos I frequented back in 2003; poor efforts from Kylie, McFly and BEP.

Is this the first time the final third of a Now has been it's best?

Anyway, great songs abound on here moreso than the last few polls. Only one other person has ticked "Lonely No More" though!

My favourite thing on here is Hard-Fi's only good song and that is really saying something. The GA and Rachel S records are alright but among their least exciting singles, and I haven't heard the Gwen vs Eve one, I don't think.

A decidedly un-"whack" comeback jam from Mr Smith, nes pas? I really liked it.

Following on from Black Eyed Peas revisionism, here comes Charlotte Church revisionism.... er, on second thoughts. But 'Crazy Chick' is a damn fine pop tune, once you get past the ludicrous lyrics.

Wait, I want to change my vote--I forgot how much I hate "Rich Girl" now until I saw how many people ticked it. I totally liked it at first but the radio just played the shit out of it, and only the worst parts, until it would literally keep me up at night, playing over and over in my head, not letting me sleep. I hope that song is never played anywhere ever again.
