Now 59 - later 2004 - the Golden Age continues, or....? JoJo, Three Of A Kind, V, Khia, Eric Prydz - we may well not see their like again. On paper this looks set to have a clear winner - but who knows the secret paths down which anygoodatall science will lead us?

Now 58 ended in a DRAW! - and no, no untickings were involved. "Hey Ya" and "Some Girls" fight it out down at the bottom of this poll. Kelis was one vote behind, and Girls Aloud one vote behind that. Very close.

'These Words' is a really good song, probably, but I can't stand that voice.

Yes, it's very...strident. She actually has some of the worst breath control I have ever heard in a professional singer, she just bellows lines indiscriminately with scant regard for subtlety.

The production is really clunky too. I really am not sure why so many people loved it. I like it fine but there are FLAWS in the system.

Word cannot explain HOW MUCH I HATE that Natasha Bedingfield record. I genuinely believe it's the worst record of the 00s.

Here is (http://freakytrigger.co.uk/old-ft/nylpm/2004/09/the-square-table-15-natasha-bedingfield-these-wordspop-factor-624-controversy-rating-263/) what I said about it at the time. At the bottom. With a ZERO next to it.

I hated this the first time I heard it (was this the first single?) just on principle. But once I listened to it, decided it was actually QUITE GOOD, despite what I would call "sonic affectations" - "Let's make a single to get 'tash some urban play."

The first single is really good though! It was called 'Single', it was kind of cod-dancehall, it was all about how great it was to be single and it really suited her bellowing voice. I thought she was going to be a brilliant popstar after that - this, as OK as it is, really heralded the start of her immediate descent into MOR dullness and a career as the New Imbroolyooly.

Her and Danny are just so Utterly Comedic when they are put in the same room as each other I cannot do anything but tick one of her songs.

I think that's why she sounded good on it! No tune => nowhere for the voice to go WRONG.

That's actively insane: More More More is the most abysmally personality-free SHAME of a record.

I am on the YSI case for both Millian and V, tho kind of scared of people not getting Hip To Hip's amazing uber-boyband-pop awesomeness.

This is why we need Tim F on Poptimists.

Well done that man. 'These Words' could be a Sandi Thom single!
