I think the above is a fine example of how to use a sample in an R'n'B track:
Takes the best bits of the original (I can't believe half the bassline was missing from the recent Hi-Tack bosh-up)
And leaves out the rubbish bits (not so tricky in this case as the original is pretty awesome)
Adds extra whoomph, clicks and bleeps to the original (rather sparse) beat, ensuring dudes can actually dance to the track in nightclubs across the land
Adds an awesome melody/singing over the top without obscuring the greatness of the sample (take note Sean Kingston!)
Doesn't spoil enjoyment of the original song: for example, only using the "aaaah, aaaah, aaaah, AHHHHH" bit once a) makes for a really effective intro b) preserves it up for Dave Bowie to do more often in his song.
I am quite sad that Youtube have taken down the actual video for this :( It had excellent dancing and Craig has stopped looking weird!
