My favourites are 'I Will Always Love You' (AMAZING weepy powerballad - much better than original) and 'It's Not Right' which is SUFFUSED with hammy diva-isms beneath the cold-as-ice production.
Mariah more mental than Whitney because Whitney's mentalism is almost entirely due to DRUGZ whereas Mariah is just crayzee.
yeh but Lex has convinced me somehow. Carey has come out with all kinds of crazy comments whilst being apparently 'straight'. Most of these just amounted to Hilton-esque un-PC/just plain naive comments like 'oh I wish I could be as skinny as those Ethiopians' and what have you.
mariah never said the "thin kids" thing (as wikipedia points out)
when she came onstage at live 8 i thought she had with her a entire choir of PYGMIES to say fvck you to those who believe she did say it! but they were ordinary-sized kids sadly
Lex's logic is powerful but Whitney has just shown us too much on that reality show of Bobby's. She's just too far gone, even if Mariah is jumping motorcycles over flaming Pepsi signs nowadays.
I really like Queen Of The Night. It was one of the first CD singles I bought and I had to play it downstairs in on my parents' cd player in the living room. It had some ace piano-house mixes on the B-side!
"I got the stuff that you want, I got the thing that you need, I got more than enough to make you drop to your knees..."
I loved it! Although stevem is right about the 'carbon copy' thing, it's one of those cases where the slightly 'better' (ie., newer) production values mean I enjoy it more.
what the fuck are you on, girl. dollys solid, haunting, beutiful, and genuoinely powerful version, versus the hellmouth fury of whitney at full blast...you dont know what yr t alking about.
I cannot imagine how anyone could disapprove of Whitney
